If you have a driving licence held before 1st January 1997, you can legally tow a trailer as long as the combined weight of the vehicle and trailer are under 8.25 tonnes. If your driving licence was issued after 1st January 1997 with a standard category B, you can legally tow a trailer as long as the combined weight of the trailer and vehicle towing is under 3.5 tonnes. This includes caravans and horseboxes.
With this in mind, DHT Training Solutions are here to help and offer trailer refresher courses so that you are confident to tow any trailer, caravan and horsebox.
We will help you prepare by practising off-road reverse manoeuvring, asking vehicle questions, couple and uncoupling exercises then once you feel confident enough, we will send you in for your B+E test at a registered centre.
We are more than happy to use your own car and trailer for the test if suitable. Plus if you need refresher training with your caravan and trailer we are more than happy to help you out with this.
